How much DOOH is broadcast in France?
ACPM certified 3 billion DOOH spots in 2025, 27% more than in 2024, with a particularly strong third quarter. They ran in 1,749 campaigns, about 1.7 million spots per campaign, on a network of about 50,000 screens operated by 13 certified sales houses. The average spot lasts 11 seconds, and the average campaign runs on 272 screens.
The first quarter of 2026 counted 535 million certified spots across 306 campaigns, with 12% of advertisers new to certified DOOH.
A note on comparisons: ACPM revises past totals in later releases. 2024 appears as 2.3 billion spots in the 2024 report and as 2.4 billion in the 2025 charts. Compare figures taken from the same release.
How big is the DOOH advertising market in France?
IREP measured €301 million in net DOOH advertising revenue in 2025: 2.3% less than in 2024 (€308 million) and 12.4% more than in 2023 (€268 million). Digital makes up almost a quarter of French outdoor advertising, which totalled €1,325 million in 2025 (−5.3%), its first dip since the post-Covid recovery.
So volume and revenue moved in opposite directions in 2025. The two sources don’t cover the same perimeter (certified spots on one side, net revenue across the whole market on the other), so don’t divide one by the other. Read together, they say DOOH airtime kept growing while spend held steady.
Adoption keeps widening: Kantar Media counted 9,247 outdoor advertisers in 2025, and 47% of them used both classic outdoor and DOOH, up from 44% in 2024 and 36% in 2023.
When are DOOH ads broadcast?
- By day: Friday and Saturday carry 32% of certified spots. Sunday is the quietest day, with 12%.
- By hour: broadcasting is very low between 1 and 5 a.m., rises from 6 a.m., peaks between 4 and 7 p.m. and falls after 8 p.m.
The pattern follows people’s movements: commutes, shopping days and evenings out.

What do these figures mean for your campaign?
- Weekends are the busiest broadcast days. A third of certified spots run on Fridays and Saturdays. If your objective allows, weekday and Sunday slots are less crowded moments on the same screens.
- Plan around your audience’s movements, not the network’s peak. The 4 to 7 p.m. peak follows commuters. Schedule your airtime for when your own customers pass the screens.
- In food, drinks or telecoms, the creative has to stand out. You share screens with the heaviest DOOH users. See 8 best practices to make your DOOH campaign a success.
- The medium is open to newcomers. 27% of 2025 advertisers were new to certified DOOH, and nearly half of outdoor advertisers already combine classic and digital formats.
- Spots are not audiences. A broadcast count says nothing about how many people saw the ad. Read how audience measurement works in DOOH before comparing offers.
